The Hang Lung As One Volunteer Team organized its second eco-tour on May 18, leading 20 kids from The Salvation Army Chuk Yuen Integrated Service on a visit to Kau Sai Chau, High Island, and Kiu Tsui Chau in Sai Kung.
The volunteers and the youngsters visited a fish farm in Kau Sai Chau and learned about the lives and culture of fishermen. The kids fished in a pond inside the farm. They were all very excited! After that, they boarded boats to look at rocks and other geology features. At low tide the children had an opportunity to walk along a tombolo — a ridge formed of beach material by wave action — on Kiu Tsui Chau. All the young people said the eco-tour was highly memorable.
