Companies nowadays realize that their only focus cannot be just their profit margins, as a part of the community they also have social responsibilities. We Do It Right is Hang Lung's motto, and one that extends beyond our core business to guide or sustainability initiatives. The Company recently co-organized the roundtable discussion, Corporate Reporting in Asia: Overcoming Challenges and Seizing Opportunities, with Global Reporting Initiative at the Hang Lung's headquarters, the Standard Chartered Bank Building, on 24 May (Wednesday), to share experience in sustainability reporting in Asia. The discussion was led by the Chief Executive of Global Reporting Initiative, Timothy J. Mohin, and Chairman of CSR Asia, Richard Welford. The event revolved around three topics: how to tackle the evolving regulatory requirements on sustainability reporting; stakeholders' expectations and complexities of supply chain reporting; and the implications of the global agenda on sustainability reporting.

The event attracted over 30 senior representatives from the business sector and investment institutions, who exchanged views on the topics. In her welcoming remarks, Assistant Director (Corporate Affairs) Bella Chhoa, also the Vice-Chairperson of the Sustainability Steering Committee, expressed the Company's support for Global Reporting Initiative, and shared the challenges of developing sustainability reports.
